The story
Let’s begin with endings.
I recently completed a new art series, quietly, behind-the-scenes. No Instagram posts. No HopeMail mentions. I waited until the last piece was done before I shared a word.
It started with a nudge. A simple prompt:
Place a point, then another point. Connect them in any way you feel.
I began sketching. Just two points, and the space between. Different marks. Different connections. Some straight, some chaotic, some meandering. That simple idea sparked a thought.
It made me think about life. How each of us has a journey from point A to point B, but the path we take, the detours, the stops and starts, are all so different, so unpredictable.
At the same time, I saw another artist who sometimes work in small, cohesive series, 10 or 20 pieces flowing from a single vision. I wonder if I would enjoy creating in this manner. I wonder if I could? The best way to find out? Do it.
I planned the number of pieces (16), visualised their size, their arrangement, their rhythm. But I didn’t have enough surface to paint on.
So, I made space for it by rethinking and enlarging my studio space working with the same square meter.
And then I painted. And kept painting.
Point A to B
I began creating the series—Point A to B. A series that’s not just about the places we arrive at, but the many things that happen in between.
I’m happy with these pieces, and I’ll be releasing all 16 originals on 15 July 2025, through my online gallery and shop.
I’ll be sharing more here in HopeMail over the coming weeks: behind-the-scenes, process, and the full reveal.
In the meantime, you can visit my project page and watch the process video from the studio.
