I changed my studio layout. This is the best thing I’ve done for the year yet.
My entire table is now facing the window, North-ish orientation, which has a great lighting position for the Northern hemisphere.
The previous layout saw me struggling to paint because the lighting was blocked by my left hand and my back was against the window. On cloudier days, which is often, especially during winter, painting is no fun.
The yellow lights which came with our rental unit are not suitable for painting. I could have gotten a daylight settings table lamp.
But—I did something way easier.
Hello…try switching the table layout. Boom, what a difference it makes.
I painted under this less-optimum lighting for almost nine months, the same problem, but I kept on at it. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
Sometimes, all it takes is a small switch to make a huge difference. The tricky thing though is realising the need to change and taking action to change it.
Good news
Ok, never mind the going viral part. But, I like this message and perspective for life.
At 71, former rally driver Liang Yuxiang has gone viral for his skateboarding skills, showcasing his newfound passion on the streets of China.
That’s a wrap for February!
See you in March for the next HopeMail issue.
