“Now, back in Malaysia, she transformed her “saudade” into wonderful artwork. I already have one—so have a look at her work, maybe you’d want one too.”
A buyer from Portugal enthusiastically posted on his LinkedIn and shared it with me.
I told him, “You got my heart of “saudade” in this new collection of artwork! A beautiful, poignant, one word to say it all.”
Isn’t it amazing how our human hearts can connect in so many ways?
What does saudade mean?
“The famous saudade1 of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness.” – A. F. G. Bell, In Portugal of 1912.
Ah, so what I’m feeling since coming back to Malaysia is nailed in one word—saudade. 🥹
The entire collection is now live on my website after releasing it to my very new, two-week-old art mailing list (not the HopeMail newsletter) of nine people. Yes, only nine. Very modest beginnings. 😂 If you happened to miss this latest release, make sure to join my art mailing list for early access to the next one and exclusive offers.
Boa tarde, Portugal (Good afternoon, Portugal)
All original artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity.
I’m excited to release this collection for you to enjoy in your homes. Thank you for your support. 🫶🏻

Saudade is not as easy to explain. But here’s an article that attempts to, and I think it gave a great explanation.
